We got to Animal Kingdom and stopped at Pizzafari to use the bathroom and get hydrated before heading over to Expedition Everest. We both waited in the single rider line and then got some soft-serve ice cream!
Erica was able to clean and sanitize her foot and we were able to make it for a nearly front-row seat experience at Up: A Great Bird Adventure. I never saw the bird show when it wasn't Up themed - it was cute! Russell and Doug make an appearance and we got to see some cool birds. Toward the end, they brought out a bald eagle named Hope, who promptly shat watery poo like a firehose from her bum. The crowd responded with laughs and "ew!!" Again... sh*t happens.
We moved over to Africa where I introduced Erica to the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail. It started raining - correction, it started POURING. We were able to get into a showing of the Lion King to wait out the storm!
After that spectacular performance (I'm not tired of that show even though I've probably seen it 8 times - it's great every time) we went to Satuli Canteen. I had a feeling Erica would be interested in the grain bowls.
Shrimp with noodles for the second night in a row :-)
Finally we finished up our day with a trip on the safari at dusk. We had an amazing driver - maybe my favorite ever. His name was Dominic and he was sassy and sarcastic. There weren't any kids on our jeep so he was able to make jokes about the "Disney magic" of seeing a giraffe skull on display in the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail. I actually put in a cast compliment on Twitter because he was so great!
From there we walked toward the exit but first stopped in some of the shops on the way out where I found a pin I had been looking for! We went back to Pop Century for an early bedtime as Erica would be up and out racing very early the next day!
Earlier at DHS, a couple told me about a "3D Partners Statue Pin" they'd seen - I finally found it in AK and I LOVE it!
The next day we would be spending most of our time at Disney Springs but I'm going to write a recap anyway!
